Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.
A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.
At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.
Russian forces has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.
"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in delivering protection systems and applying penalties," he wrote in a social media post.
He said that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.
Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.
A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.
Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.
Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and three other people were hurt.
The strikes succeed periods of air raids in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.
The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.
Government officials told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with assaults already impacting energy systems.
Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
